RPI Founder and Chairman Ron Paul is interviewed by RPI Board member Lew Rockwell on issues of war, peace, and the neoconservative domination of US foreign policy. Dr. Paul makes some very important observations about gold and the Fed, in addition to comments on Edward Snowden. Also some great observations on the difference between a trader and a long-term investors.

Prior to delivering his remarks at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner for the Knox County Republican Party in Knoxville, TN, Ron Paul held an impromptu press conference with the attending media. Dr. Paul and Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. spoke a bit about their shared experience in the House of Representatives, then the two took some questions about the state of the GOP, the mood of the electorate and the current state of readiness of the US armed forces. Apologies for the whiny audio- it's all I have found thus far. Video compliments of YouTube User: LesleyJS.

Don't think that just because he's out of the Congress that Ron Paul isn't following the news. In this week's Texas Straight Talk audio column, Dr. Paul reacts to Bill Krystol- who has been making the rounds in opposition to Rand Paul's victory at CPAC. The pope of neoconservatism has been using all the buzzwords and phrases to describe Ron's son- "neo-isolationist" and "running to the left of Barack Obama." The truth is, the neocons have lost the hearts and minds of the American voter, and its only a matter of time until they become completely irrelevant. Texas Congressman Ron Paul joined Neil Cavuto on Fox News' Your World on Friday to talk about the recent downturn in the markets and fears of global economic slowdown. Dr. Paul reminded Neil that the stock market's performance can not be detached from monetary policy.

Like many of you, I have come to the conclusion that former Governor Gary Johnson is the best remaining candidate to vote for in the general election. In my state, write-in candidates are only counted if the candidate has declared for that election- and chances are, the Congressman has no intention of doing that. Luckily, Gov. Johnson has gone above and beyond in his effort to reach out and gain support from Ron Paul supporters. Once the RNC was over, the Governor participated in an online town hall meeting specifically for Ron Paul supporters in order to earn their support and go on the record for issues most important to the liberty movement. We know that Gary is with us on most all of the issues of most importance, and as you will hear in the audio, he has clearly made himself familiar with the good Doctor's talking points on various issues. But the two men have their differences, which could be an issue for the Christian conservatives and strict non-interventionists among us. You'll have to talk a listen for yourself! Most of us have long ago had to accept the fact that Ron Paul will not be the 45th President of the United States. It's questionable if the man himself, ever wanted to win the office, as the campaign really stopped fighting back in March. We sought to win at the ballot box with the popular vote (without success), activists then infiltrated their state parties and picked up many delegate slots for a convention fight. But the Republican Party would not play fair, and the Paul contingent traveled home from Tampa with minimal gains. Yet several folks out there just won't give up, and have tried various other methods of promoting Ron Paul 2012 and laying the groundwork for the future. I probably should have posted the first two events sooner, but campaign coverage was much easier to come by at the time. The latest effort is for a national write-in campaign, which I'll continue to follow here on the podcast. Rep. Ron Paul did have an informal presence at the RNC in Tampa. Unfortunately, an unedited speaking slot was not part of the festivities. Instead, the party opted for a video tribute that was shown to the delegates on the floor of the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Wednesday. Prominent tea party Republicans like Sen. Rand Paul, Sen. Jim DeMint, and Sen. Mike Lee offered complimentary words about the Congressman's many years of service. Later, Sen. Paul spoke to the convention-goers about conservatism and what this election means to America. Texas Congressman Ron Paul rallied with around 400 supporters on Monday morning, including most of the Iowa delegation attending the Republican National Convention in Florida. The event was the Iowa breakfast at the Republican National Convention, but the majority of the crowd supposedly came from other states -- and those out-of-staters were Ron Paul supporters. The Club on Treasure Island, Florida — near the Iowa delegation’s hotel — was the site of the event — and a light rain fell as guests arrived. Dr. Paul urged supporters to fight on in the intellectual battle, despite the many dirty tricks and slow progress. Video compliments of YouTube User: TheTomdif.

After posting the audio of the Ron Paul campaign's formal gathering in Tampa Bay, I though I would post some sounds from the "fringe" element gathering at the Florida State Fairgrounds at the P.A.U.L. (People Awakening and Uniting for Liberty) Festival. PAULfest welcomed many of the liberty movement's most prominent thinkers, who were not invited to the campaign's official rally. The three day gathering welcomed thousands of Paulistas from around the country and featured speeches from various libertarian/Paul supporters. I included speeches from all the names that you'd want to hear (excluding a couple minor speeches that aren't yet posted on YouTube). I thought I'd post a good portion of the audio from the festivities during the RNC. On Sunday afternoon, somewhere between seven and ten thousand Paul supporters packed the University of South Florida's (USF) Sun Dome in Tampa Bay, Florida to celebrate the campaign's successes and to honor Ron Paul for his service. If you are looking for audio of Dr. Paul's speech, it can be heard in its entirety here. This audio file contains additional music and speeches from the major rally, for your listening enjoyment. Much of the video from the rally can be watched at C-Span.org; however, I had to rip some video elsewhere since the satellite feed was cutting out (due to Hurricane Isaac). *If there is no link after the speaker's name, the remarks can be seen at C-Span. As he is so often wont to do, Rep. Ron Paul clearly sought to use his Chairmanship of the Subcommittee on Monetary Policy as an opportunity to educate his colleagues in the US Congress (and their various staffers) about the fallacies of their economic understanding. As his part in the 2012 presidential election began to wind down, Dr. Paul's Washington staff organized a trio of experts to speak in an 'afternoon tea lecture series' on the Federal Reserve system. As a continuing educational tool, this lecture was filmed and posted for the public on the Congressman's YouTube page. Due to the lack of Ron Paul interviews and appearances in recent months, I thought I'd post these lectures on the podcast here for your enlightenment. I think they're interesting and I'm sure you will too! Links to the original media sources are included in the file description, included audio can be heard in the order listed below:

As he is so often wont to do, Rep. Ron Paul clearly sought to use his Chairmanship of the Subcommittee on Monetary Policy as an opportunity to educate his colleagues in the US Congress (and their various staffers) about the fallacies of their economic understanding. While he was hot on the campaign trail in the fall of 2011, Dr. Paul's Washington staff organized a trio of experts to speak in an 'afternoon tea lecture series' on the basic principles of money. As a continuing educational tool, this lecture was filmed and provided to the public on the Congressman's YouTube page. Due to the lack of Ron Paul interviews and appearances in recent months, I thought I'd post these lectures on the podcast here for your enlightenment. On Sunday, Newsmax.TV released an interview that was conducted by John Bachman with Dr. Ron Paul. The Congressman made the case for his Audit the Fed legislation (making its way through the House this week) by tying the central bank's inflationary policies with the destruction of the American middle class. The two also discuss the Presidential campaign and the upcoming festivities in Tampa.

Back in mid-June, Dr. Ron Paul was interviewed for his part in the upcoming documentary film, entitled: The Bubble. Filmmaker Jimmy Morrison came to Dr. Paul's Washington DC office, to talk with him about the housing bubble and the ensuing economic crisis , Federal Reserve policy, and US government intervention in the aftermath. Unfortunately, the questions for the Congressman are not audible in the video and only appear on screen- which makes things difficult for an audio podcast. The interview is broken up into topical segments. For ease of listening, I recorded the questions that appear on screen during the video (surely preferable to the silent breaks in the audio). I can't promise these are all in perfect context, as the storyboards between questions only contain broad topics. But hey, I tried. Video compliments of YouTube User: TheBubbleFilm.

On Thursday afternoon, Ron Paul chaired the 12th meeting of the House Financial Services subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology in the Rayburn House Office Building. This hearing, entitled: “Fractional Reserve Banking and the Federal Reserve: The Economic Consequences of High-Powered Money”, really gets at the heart of the bankocracy that rules present-day America. The subcommittee called three witnesses in to testify: Dr. John Cochran (Professor of Economics - Metropolitan State College of Denver), Dr. Joseph Salerno (Professor of Economics - Pace University), and Dr. Lawrence H. White (Professor of Economics - George Mason University). Would anyone be surprised that the Congress-critters (and the Democrats in particular) aren't too interested in learning about / debating fractional reserve banking?

Despite the campaign's disappointing concession of the 2012 Republican nomination, the grassroots continues to foment enthusiastic support for their candidate and their cause. On Saturday in Austin, liberty-lovers from all around came to The Stage on Sixth to be apart of The Texas for Freedom Rally and Musical Festival. The free event was organized in support of the Ron Paul 2012 campaign and the upcoming primary in Texas, and included speeches by special guests and liberty candidates for office in the Lone Star state. Of course, Dr. Paul was not at the event, but the attendance seemed surprisingly low, nonethelss. I know, that with a lineup like that, I would have loved to attend! On the day after Rep. Ron Paul announced he would end active campaigning for President, his son Sen. Rand Paul and author Brian Doherty talk about the 2012 presidential race and his new book, Ron Paul’s Revolution: The Man and the Movement He Inspired. The event took place at the CATO Institute in Washington, DC, and was moderated by David Boaz, Executive Vice President, Cato Institute. Following Mr. Doherty's talk, Sen. Paul spoke to the audience about the state of 2012 Presidential race, and took questions from the crowd. Coverage of the event was provided by C-Span.

Hell no...or at least, not exactly. On Monday morning, Ron Paul sent out an email/press release stating that the campaign will not formally contest any of the 11 remaining primaries before the convention. The campaign will instead utilize its resources at the various Republican state conventions taking place across the country, in an effort to secure the maximum number of delegates possible. This announcement has the Paul community in a frenzy, as the decision has understandably disappointed many supporters and activists who were under the impression that the campaign would fight it out to the end. The media has predictably ran with many headlines inferring that Dr. Paul has ended his bid for the White House, but prominent spokesmen for the campaign (as heard in this file) assure us that the race is anything but over. Make up your own mind after listening. This writer is somewhat distraught over the announcement. We all knew the Congressman lacked the war-chest to compete in huge statewide races; but just a week ago Dr. Paul stated his intention to win as many Congressional districts in Texas and California as possible. Hopefully, those who took the time to register Republican will still show up to vote, but this will surely demotivate some. One hopes this isn't some reflexive reaction to the bad PR from the contentious conventions in Arizona and Oklahoma over the weekend. More coverage will be included in the weekly update on Saturday. Back at the beginning of February, Senior Adviser Doug Wead spoke to Ron Paul 2012 grassroots organizers and activists at Western Michigan University's Fetzer Center in Kalamazoo. Mr. Wead talked about his personal journey from former GOP insider, and special assistant to President George HW Bush, to a spokesman and wholehearted advocate of Dr. Ron Paul. Doug offered insight into the widespread corruption that has infiltrated the US political system, and laid out the way in which corporations dominate their competition by manipulating federal regulatory agencies. He also explains his conversion to accepting a foreign policy of non-intervention. Good stuff! Video compliments of YouTube User: FranksHarbor.

The 2012 campaign for the Republican nomination for President has surely been an insane whirlwind tour through the several flavors of the month. Dr. Ron Paul aside, the average GOP voter has changed their mind over and over again- and in this writer's opinion, for the worse! Michele Bachmann was, at least, a legitimate tea party candidate in opposition to the expansion of the federal government. Of course, Rick Perry is an archetypal Texas cowboy (always appealing to conservatives) who touted his tea party inspired manifesto, "Fed Up." Herman Cain portrayed himself as an outsider and something of a populist (of which he was actually neither). Those three could at least claim to be representative of the tea party, but the last couple months of the campaign have been troubling from the perspective of a limited government conservative. Newt Gingrich is no advocate of free markets and limited government; but at least he showed well in the debates and could impress voters with his professor-esque insights. What can we say about Rick Sanitorium? He's an odd little man, who essentially played point-man for all the Bush administration's big government initiatives. More troubling, a Sanctimonium-led America would be both socially oppressive at home and unapologetically militant abroad. Luckily, I think it's safe to say that Santorum is truly the most unelectable candidate- he would probably lose a general election against President Obama by a 70% to 30% margin. But the man must be exposed, nonetheless! Links to original media sources are included in the file description, included audio can be heard in the order listed below:

With such a lack of new content over the last week or so, I have created another project the includes previously unposted audio from the last few months. These files will focus on the grassroots reaction to Ron Paul and his campaign for the Republican nomination. We all know that the Congressman is rarely given a fair shake by the MSM, and many independent Americans have noticed this trend with outrage!
