On Friday evening, former congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul delivered the keynote address to the 5th Annual Young Americans For Liberty National Conference. Over 300 enthusiastic students eagerly anticipated his arrival on the campus of George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia. The energy in the room proved that there is still a bit of juice left in the old liberty movement- if it can be harnessed by the next generation of leaders. Dr. Paul told students of their obligation to advance the cause of liberty and personal freedoms by using current technology such as the Internet to spread ideas. He also commented on current issues including the actions of whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning, and the closing of U.S. embassies and consulates due to terrorist threats. Following his remarks, he answered a few questions from students. Video coverage is available via C-Span.

I thought I'd re-post this speech in its entirety, since the previous version from last week's Rand Watch had some audio processing problems. Senator Rand Paul was the keynote speaker at the Iowa Republican Party’s Lincoln Dinner at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids.*In his remarks on the investigation into the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on September*11, 2012, he criticized how then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton performed her duties. He also focused on the need for comprehensive immigration reform. Dr. Paul was introduced by the Iowa GOP's chairman David Fischer, a key official in the Iowa Ron Paul 2012 campaign. It's clear that now that the Presidential campaign is long over, Dr. Ron Paul is not at all interested in having any unnecessary contact with the goons over at the TSA! The founder of the Young Americans for Liberty gave his keynote address for the California State Convention via video Skype this year! Nearly 250 young students and activists reportedly attended the conference- held at The Mackey Auditorium at Cal State - Fullerton to hear the former Congressman bring them up to speed on his newest projects: the Institute for Peace and Prosperity, the Homeschool Curriculum and more. Dr. Paul then took some questions from the audience. Video compliments of YouTube User: noevilmonkeys1.

Ron Paul brought his message of balanced federal budgets and non-interventionism in foreign policy to the Knox County Republican faithful Friday night for one of the largest crowds ever to attend a Lincoln Day dinner in Knoxville. The former Presidential Candidate joined his friend and colleague Rep. John Duncan in front of a crowd of at least 750 attendees at Rothchild’s Catering and Conference Center. A spirited full house greeted former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul in Oberlin College’s Finney Chapel on Sunday evening as a part of the college’s Convocation Series. Dr. Paul came through Oberlin on a speaking tour to give a lecture, “Liberty Defined,” from Paul’s 2011 book of the same name. The retired congressman enthusiastically extolled the virtues of small government, limited regulation, personal property rights and the resurgence of an ethos of government that promoted “individual liberty protected equally” for all people. The lecture was sponsored by the Oberlin College Republicans and Libertarians. Video compliments of YouTube User: Tumbleweedin.

For the second time in the last month, Dr. Ron Paul spoke to a conservative group in Canada- this time addressing attendees at the 2013 CAL "Making Alberta Safe for Capitalism" Summit at the Westin in Calgary, AB. The former Congressman and Presidential candidate delivered the Lunchtime Keynote, entitled: The Dangers of Big Government: Lessons for Canada from the US. Dr. Paul shared his thoughts on fiscal responsibility, using examples from the dysfunctional American system and anecdotes from his 23 years in Congress focusing on the most pressing issues of all - how to structurally eliminate deficits and debt. On Thursday, Sen. Rand Paul spoke at the 40th annual Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, MD. By all accounts, Dr. Paul was the star of the CPAC youth movement that paraded across the stage. Sen. Paul called for a new Republican Party in his speech, a rebuke to the previous speaker, who said the GOP did not need new ideas. In this writer's mind, CPAC 2013 has been the first sign that Sen. Paul just may be able to bridge the generation gap and appeal to all conservative-leaning activists and voters. Video compliments of YouTube User: The ACU.

Former Presidential candidate Ron Paul may not be attending CPAC this year, but he did appear at a major Canadian gathering of conservative leaders at the 2013 Manning Networking Conference. Dr. Paul spoke to attendees at the Manning Networking Conference. MNC2013 was held at the Manning Convention Centre in Ottawa, Canada- and is sponsored by the Manning Centre for Building Democracy. The former Congressman spoke about issues ranging from president-approved drone assassinations to abortion to government deception and central bankers. Dr. Paul then sat down for some Q-and-A with Preston Manning, and finally took some questions from the audience. Unfortunately, I do not see the event in its entirety, yet- but I'll update when I find it. Video coverage via SunNews (Part 1 and Part 2).

Giving the "tea party response" to Obama's State of the Union address, Sen. Rand Paul called on his fellow Republicans to be more welcoming of immigrants Tuesday night in a speech where he also sharply criticized President Barack Obama and his congressional colleagues for failing to reduce the nation's debt. Dr. Paul, who was critical of both Democrats and Republicans in his speech, urged the president and Congress to allow $1.2 trillion in cuts to domestic and military programs – known as the sequester – to happen as a step towards reducing the debt. On Wednesday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) spoke at The Heritage Foundation about his vision for foreign policy and the rise of 'radical Islam'. I view this speech as a reasoned attempt towards a more moderate stance on foreign affairs (which is surely lacking in the Congress). This writer resents the Senator's synching to neocon talking points, but I suppose we should be used to that by now. Most likely, Sen. Paul's remarks will offend his father's supporters for being too hawkish, while being too moderate for the Santorum/Gingrich voters in the GOP. But, hey- you've got to start somewhere!

On Saturday, former Congressman Ron Paul addressed the annual Mises Circle meeting in Houston, Texas. Dr. Paul presented the Mises Institute's Carl Davis Distinguished Lecture, entitled The Libertarian Future. The sold-out event was held at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport. Apologies for the abrupt ending to the speech- that's how the only available video ends.

On Wednesday, Congressman Ron Paul took to the floor of the House of Representatives to give his formal farewell address to the people of the United States. Dr. Paul spoke of his 23 years of experience serving the people of Texas, and noted the many disturbing changes that developed over the years. The Congressman warned of the pernicious onset of authoritarianism, the increasing levels of wealth redistribution, and the need for a broader intellectual awakening among the people. The 50 minute speech was a call for a return to common sense, self-reliance, and individual responsibility. Video of the speech is archived on C-Span.

Though he is no longer in the Presidential race, thousands turned out for Ron Paul's appearance at Utah Valley University on Thursday afternoon. The Congressman's ideological rEVOLution continues for droves who turned out to hear him give his 45 minute speech at UVU's Utah Community Credit Union Event Center in Orem. The speech, which he delivered without notes, ranged in issues from free markets, the deficit, welfare, poverty and limited government. Video compliments of YouTube User: Myke Argyle.

After participating in Saturday's "Parade That Never Was" honoring all Vietnam War veterans, the Congressman Ron Paul spoke to a small gathering at the at the Victoria College Student Center in Victoria, TX. Dr. Paul talked about the nation's economic woes, US foreign policy, and his career in politics- and finished his remarks with some audience Q-and-A. Last weekend, liberty activists from across the country convened at the Westfield's Marriott in Chantilly, Virginia for LPAC 2012. On Friday night, hundreds crammed into the Grand Dominion room to hear Dr. Ron Paul talk about the campaign, the state of our country, and the movement going forward. Yes, the 2012 campaign is over, but the broader Campaign for Liberty continues! Video compliments of YouTube User: VitacoreVision.

Prior to making his main appearance at LPAC 2012, Dr. Ron Paul spoke briefly at a private reception for Campaign for Liberty donors and other guests in the Grand Dominion at the Westfield's Marriott in Chantilly, VA. Carol Paul introduced her husband, who spoke to the group about the long-term nature of the battle that the liberty movement faces, and how each enlightened individual must spread the message in their own way. The Congressman spoke for around seven minutes to a crowd that looked to be 150-200 people. Video compliments of YouTube User: VitacoreVision.

Congressman Ron Paul delivered this Congressional lecture on "The Great Enabler: The Rise of the Federal Reserve and the Growth of Government." The introduction was given by Senator Rand Paul. Congressman Paul explains in this lecture the Federal Reserve's role as the enabler of big government. Through purchases of government debt, the Fed allows the government to spend beyond its means and contributes to the growth of the welfare-warfare state. If leviathan government is to be countered, understanding monetary policy and the fundamental role it plays in the relentless growth of government is a necessary first step. Texas Congressman Ron Paul rallied with around 400 supporters on Monday morning, including most of the Iowa delegation attending the Republican National Convention in Florida. The event was the Iowa breakfast at the Republican National Convention, but the majority of the crowd supposedly came from other states -- and those out-of-staters were Ron Paul supporters. The Club on Treasure Island, Florida — near the Iowa delegation’s hotel — was the site of the event — and a light rain fell as guests arrived. Dr. Paul urged supporters to fight on in the intellectual battle, despite the many dirty tricks and slow progress. Video compliments of YouTube User: TheTomdif.

In a speech that was part motivational, part valedictory and at every opportunity critical of the mainstream RonPaulFlix., Representative declared his liberty movement alive and well on Sunday before a crowd of nearly 10,000 supporters who were eager to testify to that claim. Dr. Paul, who was introduced to the crowd by Senator Rand Paul, welcomed the crowd to his campaign finale at the University of South Florida's Sun Dome in Tampa. Video compliments of YouTube User:

On Monday, Rep. Ron Paul came to Columbia, South Carolina to support SC state Senator Tom Davis in his bid for reelection. If you recall, Davis endorsed Dr. Paul back in January before the primary there, and the Congressman appeared at the event venue at 701 Whaley to return the favor. The fundraiser was appropriately emceed by Jack Hunter, "the Southern Avenger," as the crowd of contributing donors at the rally numbered around 200 (my estimate). Due to the relative lack of audio available for the podcast these days, this file includes remarks by Hunter, Dr. Paul, and Sen. Davis. Video compliments of YouTube User: SilenceDewgooder.

Dr. Ron Paul took a ride down the road on Wednesday evening to speak at the Young Americans for Liberty's 4th annual National Convention. Congressman Paul spoke for just over 20 minutes at The Catholic University in Washington, DC- offering the crowd of young student-activists his thoughts on the state of the country, the challenges we face as a movement, and even some insight into the recently passed (in the house) audit the Fed bill. I will be watching out for video of the audience Q&A that was scheduled after the Congressman's keynote, and will likely post Sen. Rand Paul's YAL convention speech as part of the weekly update. On Friday, Ron Paul appeared live on the telephone via Skype connection to address his supporters, who had gathered prior to the weekend's GOP state convention. Dozens of activists from the Republican Liberty Caucus met at the Holiday Inn - Grand Isle to strategize in advance of the convention, which is being called "Dr. Paul's last stand" to earn a chance to be formally nominated at the RNC. The audience heard from the Congressman thanks to a Laptop with Skype, and a mic connected to a PA. I included a portion of the preceding speakers, just for listeners to get a feel for the meeting. Following his speech at the Texas state convention on Thursday, Congressman Ron Paul made an appearance at the Texas Liberty Concert being held at The River Ranch in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Rep. Paul spoke to his loyal devotees about the coming fiscal crisis, the encroachment of big government, and the growth of the liberty movement over the last 5 years. It should be noted that Dr. Paul announces that he has been promised a vote on the Audit the Fed bill in July (audio begins at 5:13)! Perhaps that's been part of the deal to get the Congressman out of campaign mode since mid-May. Nevertheless, we can see that Dr. Paul's work in Washington over the last few weeks seems to have bore fruit! Video compliments of YouTube User: Prima Facia.
